Today was opening day of Shrimp Season. Grant you we able to go trolling with Poppie, Papa and Mr. Eric. For part of your Journal work today, I opened the floor for you to tell us your experience about trolling today. Below you will find your story in your own words:
When we leave the house I think that we are going to have fun. Then we leave with the boat in the back. It was a little while and I started to get bored on the road. I started to play my leapster game, then finally we saw a bunch of boats. They are called butterfly boats. Then we start to dock the boat in the water, this is allot of fun because it looks like we are gonna sink. It starts to rain actually pour down.....and the water starts to get rough. But I am not scared. Then it stops raining, we have so much fun let me tell you about it. We go to red fish point-I think that is the name of it--
we will just say that. Then we put in the net-it is hard. Poppie gets a little frustrated (Mommie giggles while typing and Grant you look at me and say well IT'S TRUE) then we pull for a hour.
Well less than an hour.
Me and Poppie lay on the tray and Papa says "Awe Awe Sha" We kind of took a nap on the tray. We pull up the net we dump into the tray. There are three crabs-2 with one claw and one with 2 claws. We caught allot of fish and shrimp, mostly little shrimp. We are going to give the little shrimp to Mr. Ed, so he can dry them or fry them --I don't know. We put the net in the water again, we pulled for an hour- not less than an hour just an hour. Then I pray allot for crabs and for allot of big shrimp but no small shrimp or fish. Then we pull up and Poppie said
"Grant I think you didn't pray for crabs or shrimp I think you prayed for a huge fish" We do not know what kind of fish it is. It is the size of
Micah.

Then we put the net back in the water it seems like we pulled for 2 hours then we pull up again there is NOTHING in the net. Well nothing was in the sack of the net, but there was a bunch of crabs, 2 eels that looked like snakes and allot of shrimp, There was fish heads stuck in the net that we had to pull out by hand. Which we did when we got back to Papa's house.
I got 2 dollars from this man that we gave him some shrimp. He could use it for bait to go fishing. At this point we gave up, and we drove back to dock. We saw a huge log, but it wasn't a LOG, it was an alligator. Two times bigger than Poppie. We just keep on going. Finally here is the dock. We are pulling up the boat. Then all get in the car and we leave. I play my leapster game again. Then when we come home I get to wash the tray, 3 buckets, and anything else. Zoe and Micah was so excited to see me, that Zoe tried to
kiss me. But I didn't let- you know how much I don't like her kisses.

Wow! I have only seen the shrimp boats but I was unsure of how they caught the shrimp. That was a wonderful naration Grant. It is done a lot like when Jesus told the fishermen to throw there nets into the sea. Thank you for casting your nets and being obedient to the Lord. You were reward with a great big fish! If you were disobedient he may have eaten you like Jonah.
Sorry. "their" nets and "rewarded" I should not comment before coffee.
What a great trip, Grant you did well explaining it to those who have never been(I have)
But little boy you had better start taking Zoe's kisses, not many young guys have sisters to give "butterfly" kisses to...
love ya
Leelee
Or should I say very few guys have little sisters to get kisses from... If I were there I would get all of your kisses all day.
love you all
Congrats on the big catch! What time will the fried shrimp be ready? :)
