Two hurricanes with in two weeks are a bit much. For children who don't really understand the disaster that they can cause, tend to enjoy hurricanes. Well that is the situation with you guys. You felt like this whole hurricane business is all fun and games. You really enjoyed the extra company at the house and most of all you really enjoyed having Poppie around all day long.
We stayed in our home for IKE. Gammie left her home and came to stay with us. This was a first for her to have a sleep over with us. She seemed to really enjoy being with each of you. She was able to hold Malia for long periods of time, she was able to listen to Grant read, she was able to read to Zoe and she was able to watch Micah play and entertain her with his silliness.
In the midst of IKE we decided to make bread from scratch. All of us had a chance to get dirty and use a little elbow grease.
Later on Saturday afternoon after IKE was finished in our area, Gammie decided to head back to her house. This is when we lost electricity. Gammie was very glad that she still had power. Our power source box for Slemco is in Erath. Erath was starting to flood due to the surge. Well this made our electricity stay out until the Sunday evening. Having the generator makes life continue in our home. You can hardly even notice that things are different when we have the generator running. I think that is why all of you don't seem to mind having hurricanes!
After going to mass on Sunday morning, Papa and Sweetheart treated us to eat at Piccadilly. We were all grateful of that blessing.
Thank you Lord for taking care of our family through this hurricane season. May you have mercy on all the families that were affected with IKE.
