Beach Trip

Hurricane Gustav messed up our beach trip for Labor day, So once Ike came and went and our electricity was back to normal we decided to head to the beach. Our friends, The Day Family, have a condo in Fort Walton, Fl, they offered us to go and check it out.
The condo was beautiful! It was like we were visiting a fancy hotel. The beach was so inviting! We turned into total beach bums during our stay. We were so very blessed with a great place to stay and having Monica join us to help out.

Every one had their favorite thing to do:

Grant you boogie board and swam in the gulf pretty much the whole time we were out there. Your goggles were on at all times and we basically saw you head down in the water while at the beach. You were so very excited to see the dolphins--Mommie shared the excitement with you when we saw the dolphin completely jump out of the water. Our first two days we saw so many dolphins---Really cool!

Zoe you didn't mind the beach but your really loved the pool and hot tub! You are our little social bug, so you found a friend at the pool to play with. You loved doing tricks in the pool. You also enjoyed standing on your head under water. You did a great job making sand castles and burring Monica in the sand. One other thing that you did very well was eat junk food at the beach--enjoy it while you can sweetheart!

Poppie and I were so very proud of both of you big kids. You both played so very well together while on vacation. This is one thing that made our vacation pleasant. Thanks for that gift!

Micah, well we were a little nervous about you and the sand. Back in February when we took our cruise, you refused to touch the sand in Mexico. You sat on a chair the whole entire time while on the beach that day. So we were not sure how you would react to this vacation. The first day out on the beach you were very excited. You walked down the board walk as proud as can be. as you got to the sandy part of the board walk you slowed down and would only walk on the clean wood part. Then you slowly touched it with your toes and began to SLOWLY walk on it. For a 2 minute walk it took you about 8 minutes to get to our spot on the beach. After that you were gun hoe about the beach. You loved the water and sand. So much that when you ate chips you ate sand also--it seemed to bother mommie more than you. So we set up a bucket with water and you started to wash you hands in between bites.
Having a 2yr old at the beach is really a lot of fun! It was so enjoyable to watch you explore at such a young age!

Malia, you are a fantastic beach bum. You ate, slept, and pooped at the beach. You didn't have a care in the world. I pray that you can continue you life as worry free as you did on the beach.

Thanks to Monica joining us on our vacation-Mommie and Poppie were able to have some good quality and quantity time together. We feel very blessed to be able to have quiet time together and know that our children are in good hands. To come home really refreshed is not something that happens often for family vacations-Between the lovely place we stayed and the help of Monica we were able to accomplish just that. Sunday night while Poppie and Mommie were unpacking-Poppie said that this was the first family vacation that he could actually say he was mentally rested.
Praise God for that! Thank you Lord for such a gift for our family.
