Wrapping up Asia

We are at the end of our unit study on Asia. It has been a fun two weeks. We have learned so much about Asia as a whole. The two areas we learned mostly about was China and Japan.
One thing that each of you got a kick out of was that at one time the Japanese read right to left on scrolls. You had lots of fun being the illustrator of your own Japanese scroll. Mommie printed the scroll off of the internet. Each page had a story line of it and you were in charge of drawing the picture for each page. This is what made each of you the illustrator. This seemed to be a really fun project that lasted the whole unit study since we did a little each day.

The other fun thing was learning about how they use dragons and the color red for decorations. They use both of these to celebrate the New Year in China.
These decorations mean "good luck" to the Asian people. In honor of that, the project you each did was a dragon boat. Unfortuntly it was made of paper so Zoe you were disappointed you couldn't put it in water.
