Today was a very big day in the Thomas home. The anticipation upon waiting for the Cat Chat family to arrive at OUR home was at it's bursting point. We expected for them to arrive shortly after 8pm. Everyone one was wearing their bible camp shirts for sleep tonight which was nothing new in our home. Each of you wanted to show this family how much we love what they do!!!
Micah and Malia you were tucked away in your bed by the time Cat Chat showed up at our home. We knew it would be best since the next day would be full of excitement!
Grant and Zoe when you figured out that Mommie was on the phone with the Cat Chat family you were both doing the jig on the front porch. It was so very cute to watch you both dance with excitement. When they arrived we welcomed them in and enjoyed a little visit before going to bed.
We had learned that night that Jerome would be turning 9 years old the next day--Grant, as I tucked you in you told me that you wanted to do something special for him. Poppie decided to make Jerome a home made cookie cake.We enjoyed celebrating your birthday with you Jerome--We left the cake on top of the oven all day so we apologize Jerome--your cake was on the dry side--usually Poppie's cake are so yummy and moist--sorry!!
Sorry Malia--you didn't make this photo due to your nap!!!!
When Mr Gerald came in to our home for a shower Micah was able to meet him for the first time. Poppie asked "Who is that Micah?" You said...."Cat Chat Man" in a really cute voice!!! Just moments later you looked at mommie with a really sad face and said "Moses not at my house"--He was in the camper taking a nap!!! We all reassured you that you would see him tonight at church.
Before we sat down for lunch it was our pleasure to give the Cat Chat family a tour of our Cajun Power Plant. They each seemed to enjoy the tour and kept saying they were amazed at what we did for a living. We sent them home with some goodies--Hope you enjoyed them!!!
Concert Time:
We all headed to Our Lady of Wisdom for the big night. Grant and Poppie helped the crew set up for the night. You both seemed to enjoy to serve in this way!!
We had a nice turn out--Mommie and Poppie would have hope for some more but am grateful for those who did come out and support the concert.
Micah you were SO very excited when Moses came out on stage. I captured it in the moment:
Zoe you were also excited about the concert--this pic wasn't clear but I could pass it up
Thank you Sweetheart for joining us early and helping with Malia:
Meeting the Cat Chat family was amazing for our family. They are really a wonderful neat family. Having them in our home was such a blessing. Grant mentioned to me on the Sat morning that he hated to see them go. He wished he could be around them always...........Since our time with them we have prayed and asked God to cross our paths again in the future.
As the Cat Chat family pulled away that night in their camper Mrs Denise said to us--"We will tell you what we tell everyone else...We probably won't see you again So we will see you in Heaven"--We pray that we WILL see them again. We plan to keep in touch with them and pray for them often.
Below are a few high lights from the night: God Bless the Cat Chat Family and Staff!!
