Grandparents are a True Blessing

Today Mommie and Poppie (and Malia) attended Paw-Paw Franques funeral service. This is Mommie's grandfather on her dad's side. This is your great grand father. Paw-Paw was 81 years old. He died on July 21, 2008.

I decided to blog this memory for each of you because I realized something special today. Grand parents are a Blessing in their own special way. I have some very good memories about Paw-Paw Franques when I was a little girl. My memories are different from my cousins. My memories are very special to me and I am sure their memories are special to them.

Grant and Zoe you are at an age right now that you will start to have events in your life that will stick out in the later years. Micah you are not far behind them. I want each of you to know that you have VERY special grand parents. You even have some VERY special great grand parents eager to visit with you. Your grandparents are at an age that you can still have good quality and quantity time with each of them. As you grow older you may find it hard to spend time with them. We challenge you and ask that you make time with each of them. Mommie and Poppie are asking you today to make sure you treasure the time you have with your grandparents. If it wasn't for them Mommie and Poppie would not be here today and in turn neither would you:)

Eternal rest grant unto Nolan Franques, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen.
I love you Paw-Paw Franques!!!!!

So very true! I'm thankful Rachel and I got to be there with you.

And thank you for letting me love on your sweet girl today. I could eat those cheeks!
