Eight people riding the subway, ages 11 months to 39 years, "could" be a challenge......but not with our Poppie! He was a great leader for our family. Everyone had a buddy and no one got left behind!
If you ask, someone is always willing to help you out!

Riding the subway is fun and an adventure in its self.
Today is Sunday.......so what better place to attend Holy Mass?
The Basilica!!!!!!!
Look how much God loves me, He gave me my blue skies and white puffy clouds!!!!!
My view when I had to take Davis out of Mass for disrupting everyone in the pew. God is so good to us in all situations.
I could have taken many many pics in this beautiful church but here a few that struck me as we walked around.
One chapel that took my breath away was this one :
And the statue that made me stop in my tracks was this:
The statue spoke volumes to me. It gives me strength and hope to be the mother I am called to be. It could not have been easy for The Holy family flee to Egypt. They needed a resting time to regain their strength to continue on their journey.
I pray as each of you grow older you realize that your parents need a resting time also. We rely on God for strength, grace and mercy. We are not perfect parents, but we are trying our best to teach you the way of The Lord. Along the way we will need to rest, but I pray when we do we come back we are better prepared for the journey.......your journey......our journey. (I'm thinking after this journey we will need a date night!!!!!)
The Holy Father showed up in DC --- such a surprise to us all. So glad we got family pic with him!!!! ;)

Thank You Pope Francis for taking time out of your busy day for our family;)
Our little napper--such a champ Siena!

Relics of our two newest saints:
Malia you found this flower, or picked it, and I happen to over hear how Grant was lovingly placing it on your ear. I hear him tell you that your were beautiful!!!
Two buddies waiting for the sub.
Malia I told you not to sit on the ground waiting for the sub because it was dirty....you replied "I'm not sitting on the ground, I'm sitting on my shoes."
Thank you Jesus for my smart children!!!!
Spent most of the afternoon at the Arlington National Cemetary.
Stopped by JFK eternal flame. We even face timed sweetheart here.....she has always talked about going here so we allowed technology to bring it to her.
We then headed to the switching of the guards at the tomb of the unknown.
This was an incredible experience......we saw them switch twice and also witnessed two wreath ceremonies.
There was lots of walking in this cemetery. More than I expected but each of you were great troopers to have this experience!
Stopped and checked out the roses!!!!!
At this point of the day of our trip we had to make a decision on the last thing to see. We wanted to start our drive to Hershey Pennsavania. We decided to get back to our van then drive to the Lincoln Memorial.
This was such a memory making night....

| One Last good bye!!!! |
On our way to see the Lincoln Memorial, Poppie almost hit a duck. Grant you said that is one of your favorite memories.
We took a chance and parked our van in the bus lane....we all took off running to see the stautue. It was just turning dark. Loads of people were on all the steps, we made our way to the top and took some pics.
This marks the first spot of "losing" Davis. (more on this to come in future post)
